The Oath of Naturopathic Medicine states: “I will assist and encourage others to strengthen their health, reduce risks for disease, and preserve the health of our planet for ourselves, our families, and future generations.”

The Principles of Naturopathic Medicine are:

  • First of all, do no harm.
  • To act in cooperation with the Healing Power of Nature.
  • To address the fundamental causes of disease.
  • To heal the whole person through individualized treatment.
  • To teach the principles of healthy living and preventive medicine.

This is our mission to empower people to live healthier lives in a healthier environment. A healthy environment is essential for life to thrive on our home, planet earth. We humans need to change how we live, work, play and learn to ensure that healthy environment, for ourselves and the rest of creation. We are all connected. Our environment is our health, and we in turn affect the environment.

But part of the price we pay for living as we do, is exposure to toxins which is a fact of modern life. Substances like heavy metals, pesticides, chemicals from household materials and cleaning products are ingested, inhaled or absorbed into our bodies throughout our lifetimes. Some of these substances are carcinogens, meaning they are known to cause cancer in high enough concentrations; others disrupt hormones and the optimal functioning of the body.

Each year, more than 4 billion pounds of toxic chemicals are released into the environment; these toxic chemicals can accumulate in your body and affect overall health. Long-term exposure to even small amounts of these substances has been linked to a number of unwelcome health effects. Under normal circumstances, your body is able to rid itself of harmful chemicals and pollutants. But sometimes, the sheer volume of toxins to which you are exposed can overwhelm natural processes and accumulate in your tissues. Add to that an unhealthy diet lacking in proper nutrients, and the problem can get even worse.

Our bodies cannot effectively eliminate the amount of toxins to which we are exposed every day. Without excretion, those toxic substances continue to build up in the body-and over time, and uncomfortable symptoms can give way to even more significant problems, including neurological disorders and cancer.

Fortunately, we can support the body in ridding itself of harmful chemicals and other substances. Generally speaking, a metabolic and liver detoxification program can be very helpful to support this important process. For optimal health, it is critical for you to remove all toxic material from your body. When toxins accumulate in your body they can cause significant disruption of your overall health.
