aom-day

This is one of  the largest community-service oriented events that Hawthorn offers each year.  This year the Hawthorn providers will give talks on multiple aspects of traditional, holistic, and oriental medicine along with hands-on demonstrations.  In addition, individuals will be able to experience short treatment sessions of massage, acupuncture, craniosacral therapy, and more.  Master Kellie Chambers, LAc will be introducing participants to the ancient movement form of Qi Gong.  Snacks and beverages also served.  From 3-7pm, the community is invited to come in to gain a greater understanding of Oriental and holistic medicine, and have a first hand experience with its uses.

Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine Day is observed annually since its initial commemoration on October 24, 2002. It is part of an effort designed to increase public awareness of the progress, promise, and benefits of acupuncture and Oriental medicine.

Led by Kellie Chambers, LAc., MAOM, Hawthorn Healing Arts Center’s practitioners take a collaborative approach to holistic health and are contributing their expertise to offer this event.  Other participating practitioners include: Chelsea Phillips, L.Ac., MSOM, Kerie Raymond, ND, Calley Asbill, ND, Sarah Reynolds-Jackson, LMT, Kevin Pett, LAc, DAOM, PhD, Barbara Largent, MD, Joshua Phillips, ND and students from the local massage school.
