Melissa Porras is a Nurse Practitioner and Board-Certified Nurse Midwife, specializing in women’s health, wellness and evidence-based practices for menopause management.
Since 1998, she has been devoted to supporting women’s health through a dynamic journey that has evolved from holistic massage therapy and doula work to public health education and obstetric nursing. Building on decades of experience, she became a nurse practitioner to expand the scope and quality of care she provides. Her work and studies have taken her across five continents—including Asia, Europe, Africa, Central and North America—where she’s gained a deep understanding of diverse cultural and clinical approaches to women’s health. She draws on this diverse background to offer patient-centered care that’s grounded in research, informed by lived experience, and delivered with empathy and precision.
Melissa specializes in menopause management. She stays current with the latest research and offers a range of treatment options—from bio-identical hormone replacement therapy to integrative, lifestyle-based approaches. She provides support with adjustments such as nutrition, sleep hygiene, physical activity, stress and mental health management, tailoring care to each patient’s unique needs, goals, and values
Melissa provides a range of comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic services, including but not limited to annual exams, pap smears, HPV screening, contraceptive and birth control care, IUDs, and abnormal uterine bleeding evaluations. She also offers STI testing and treatment, preconception counseling, and prenatal and postpartum care.
Her practice blends clinical expertise with a personalized, whole-person approach. Melissa integrates evidence-based medicine with thoughtful, individualized care. She is an active member of ACNM, ACOG, ASCCP, NAMS, NPWH, and AWHONN, and is passionate about empowering women through informed choices, inclusive care, and meaningful connection.
